About Kite

Kite (also called Kite AI) is a proof-of-stake Layer-1 blockchain built to handle payments and identity for autonomous AI agents. The project's goal is to allow verifiable, programmable machine-to-machine transactions in what it calls the agentic economy. Chi Zhang and Scott Shi co-founded Kite, with development starting around 2023 and 2024. The network is EVM-compatible and runs on proof-of-stake consensus. The KITE token launched publicly in late 2025, with spot trading on Binance beginning on November 3, 2025. KITE has three functions: paying network fees, staking to secure the network, and voting on governance proposals. Total supply is capped at 10 billion tokens. The project is designed to let AI agents transact and operate autonomously within decentralized networks.
