About Monerium EUR emoney
Monerium EUR emoney (ticker EURE) is a regulated euro stablecoin and e-money token representing euros on public blockchains. It is issued by Monerium, an EU-licensed Electronic Money Institution operating under e-money rules and MiCA. Monerium was founded in Iceland in 2016 to provide a compliant on-chain representation of the euro for payments and settlement across the European Economic Area. EURE launched initially as an ERC-20 token and is now live on Ethereum, Gnosis, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Linea, Scroll, Noble, and Algorand. It is not issued on a standalone blockchain with its own consensus mechanism; instead, it relies on the consensus of its host chains, while Monerium controls issuance through a centralized mint-and-burn model tied to SEPA euro deposits and redemptions. Each token is backed 1:1 by euro reserves held in safeguarded accounts and high-quality liquid assets. EURE functions as a transferable, euro-denominated payment and settlement asset, allowing users to move value between SEPA bank accounts, wallets, and decentralized finance applications. It is not used for staking or on-chain governance, and gas fees are paid in the native currencies of the host chains. EURE has no fixed maximum supply; its circulating amount expands and contracts in direct proportion to user deposits and redemptions.
