About Lighter
Lighter is a decentralized perpetuals exchange built on Ethereum that lets users trade perpetual futures contracts on-chain. Vladimir Novakovski founded the project in 2022 and is its CEO. The LIT token launched on December 30, 2025, in a token generation event that began public distribution. Lighter operates as an on-chain protocol, with its core design centered on executing perpetual futures trades directly on the Ethereum network. LIT is an ERC-20 token used for ecosystem access and incentives. Its tokenomics are structured around ecosystem growth and protocol buybacks rather than staking or governance. The total supply of LIT is capped at one billion tokens, of which 250 million were distributed at launch. Lighter is a fixed-supply, Ethereum-based perpetuals exchange whose token demand is tied directly to trading activity and protocol revenues.
