The initiative will explore how verifiable assurance signals can help payment providers assess counterparties and integrate compliance checks into existing risk and approval workflows.

The companies said the project seeks to solve a major operational challenge in stablecoin payments by reducing the need for repeated compliance verification every time a new provider joins a payment network. Mastercard Crypto Credential is designed to provide interoperable standards and governance signals that increase confidence and transparency across blockchain-based financial ecosystems.

The pilot includes Infinia, Walapay, and Koywe, members of the Borderless.xyz network that will test Mastercard Crypto Credential under a single-audit compliance model.
