About Aster
Aster is a decentralized exchange for spot and perpetual futures trading, with a non-custodial design and support across several blockchains. Its token is used for governance, staking, trading fee discounts, and other rewards. The project came from the merger of Astherus and APX Finance in late 2024 and relaunched under the Aster brand in March 2025. Aster describes its own layer-1, Aster Chain, as using proof of staked authority for consensus. The token has a capped supply of 8 billion ASTER, with roughly 1.65 billion in circulation at launch.
