Walmart-backed OnePay now lets users deposit USDC straight into checking
Select US customers can send the stablecoin to their OnePay Checking account and have it converted to dollars automatically, with no conversion fees at launch
OnePay, the mobile fintech backed by Walmart, now accepts USDC deposits directly into OnePay Checking accounts. The stablecoin is converted to US dollars automatically and lands in the user’s existing checking balance within moments.
How the USDC deposit feature works
The feature went live on October 30, 2026, for select US customers. Inside the OnePay app, users generate a deposit address for USDC. They send the stablecoin to that address, and OnePay handles the rest.
Once the USDC arrives, it is converted into dollars and credited to the customer’s checking balance. OnePay is not charging conversion fees at launch.
Deposits are supported from 12 blockchains. Named networks include Tempo, Base, Solana, and Ethereum.
The plumbing comes from Stripe’s Bridge platform. Bridge handles compliance checks, manages the deposit addresses, and runs the conversion to US dollars.
One practical result: users no longer need a separate stablecoin account to get USDC into their everyday banking. The stablecoin goes in, dollars come out, and the customer never manages a crypto balance in between.
Who this is actually for
The clearest beneficiaries are freelancers and gig workers who get paid in USDC. For them, the current process often involves an exchange account, a sell order, and a bank withdrawal that takes its time.

OnePay compresses that chain into a single deposit.
The timing lines up with broader stablecoin growth. Stablecoin transaction volume reached approximately $1.79 trillion in June 2026, a 125% increase year-over-year.
OnePay’s slow, steady crypto build
This is not OnePay’s first move into digital assets. The company began offering Bitcoin and Ethereum trading in January 2025. It added more tokens in March 2026.
In April 2026, OnePay also started a partnership with Tempo. Tempo now appears on the list of supported networks for USDC deposits, so the new feature builds directly on that earlier relationship.
Its pitch is still built around fee-free checking and savings. The company counts millions of customers, many drawn by that model and by its association with Walmart.
What this means for stablecoins and retail banking
The Stripe angle also deserves attention. Bridge is doing the heavy lifting on compliance and conversion, which suggests a template other consumer finance apps could copy.
The feature is limited to select US customers. The no-fee structure applies at launch.
