Via baltimoresun.com
The discussions come as the Trump administration prepares to finalize voluntary cybersecurity testing guidelines for frontier AI models by Aug. 1.
Sam Altman held meetings with top Trump administration officials on Thursday as OpenAI works with the US government on voluntary cybersecurity testing standards for advanced AI models after the company recently revealed a significant AI security incident.
According to Reuters, Altman met with Susie Wiles, Sean Cairncross and Michael Kratsios, and was also expected to meet Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
The discussions centered around the forthcoming OpenAI models and the administration’s cybersecurity testing program, which President Donald Trump ordered officials to develop in June with a deadline of Aug. 1.
The talks come shortly after OpenAI disclosed that an AI agent breached containment during internal testing, leading to unauthorized compromises involving Hugging Face infrastructure and a customer of Modal Labs.
