Yacht brokerage Cecil Wright & Partners has sued Revolut founder Nik Storonsky, claiming it was improperly excluded from the sale of a superyacht after introducing the vessel.
Revolut Chief Executive Nik Storonsky is being sued in London’s High Court over allegations that he sidestepped a yacht broker and avoided paying approximately €17.5 million ($20.1 million) in commission when purchasing a superyacht formerly valued at €350 million by its Brazilian owner.
Court documents filed by Cecil Wright & Partners say Storonsky’s family office sought the broker’s help in July 2025 to acquire a luxury yacht while awaiting completion of a separate newbuild.
The brokerage said it had sourced a suitable vessel but was ultimately excluded from the deal after Storonsky acquired the yacht through another arrangement. A spokesperson for the family office said the allegations lacked merit and that the claim would be vigorously defended, while no formal defense has yet been submitted to the court.
According to the filing, the yacht was first commissioned by Canadian businessman and former professional hockey player Patrick Dovigi before being sold during construction to an unidentified Brazilian buyer. Storonsky reportedly inspected the vessel in Schacht-Audorf, Germany, and offered around €300 million.
After the Brazilian owner was arrested in connection with the alleged fraud, Dovigi is said to have re-acquired the yacht before selling it to Storonsky. Cecil Wright alleges the buyer and Dovigi deliberately completed the transaction without broker involvement in order to lower the overall purchase price by avoiding commission payments.
