Revolut launches low-cost access to private equity and credit funds in Europe

The initiative supports Revolut's strategy of growing its wealth management business alongside banking, investing and crypto services.

Revolut has partnered with alternative asset managers including Apollo, Ares, Hamilton Lane and Partners Group to offer European retail investors access to private equity, private credit and infrastructure funds through its app, according to Bloomberg.

Customers in markets including France and Spain can invest with as little as €1 via Revolut-managed feeder funds, broadening access to private market investments that have traditionally been reserved for institutional and wealthy investors.

The partnership underscores a growing trend of alternative asset managers using consumer investment platforms to broaden their investor base beyond institutions and high-net-worth clients.

The rollout comes as several private market firms contend with increased redemption requests that have led some funds to restrict withdrawals. Revolut said it would not impose additional platform fees and has established a specialist team to assess fund managers’ performance and liquidity management before listing products.

The company views wealth management as a key growth area as it works toward expanding its global customer base and increasing fee-based revenue.
