Robinhood lists XDC for eligible US customers

The enterprise-focused XDC Network token is now tradable on Robinhood Crypto, though state restrictions apply

Robinhood Crypto has added XDC, the native token of the XDC Network, to its lineup for eligible US customers.

The listing went live on October 8, 2026, with the announcement landing between 9:18 and 9:42 a.m. ET. Robinhood presented XDC as a new asset available next to heavyweights like Bitcoin and Ether.

What Robinhood actually added

Eligible US users can now buy, sell, and hold XDC through the Robinhood app. Availability depends on state rules, and XDC is not tradable in certain places, including New York.

Robinhood reportedly has around 2.3 million users active in crypto trading. That is a sizable audience for a token that has mostly lived in enterprise and institutional circles.

Robinhood has indicated that it received integration fees for supporting XDC, giving Robinhood another revenue stream from its growing crypto operation.

What XDC Network is built for

XDC Network is an enterprise-grade Layer-1 blockchain. Its focus areas are trade finance, payments, and the tokenization of real-world assets. Tokenization means representing things like invoices, bonds, or commodities as digital tokens on a blockchain.

The network claims finality of about 2 seconds and says it can handle over 2,000 transactions per second, with near-zero transaction fees.

XDC Network is also ISO 20022 compliant. ISO 20022 is a global messaging standard for financial data used in banking, and compliance is meant to make it easier for the network to plug into existing bank systems.

The ecosystem lists institutional partners including Deutsche Telekom, SBI Holdings, and Clear Street.

The Bitstamp connection

The token was previously listed on Bitstamp in late 2024, following Robinhood’s acquisition of that exchange for approximately $200 million.

XDC Network co-founder Ritesh Kakkad noted that the listing does not alter the token’s underlying utility or fundamentals, but gives institution-focused infrastructure exposure to a much broader audience.

What this means for XDC and Robinhood

For XDC, the clearest effect is distribution. A token that was largely discussed in institutional contexts is now one tap away for a retail audience reportedly numbering around 2.3 million crypto users.

For Robinhood, the integration fees add a revenue dimension alongside earnings from trading activity. Users may reasonably want to know which assets arrived because of demand and which arrived with a fee attached.

The state-by-state carve-outs show that US crypto access remains uneven. A customer in one state may see XDC in the app, while a customer in New York sees nothing at all.
