About Quant
Quant Network is a blockchain interoperability platform built around the Overledger operating system, which connects multiple blockchains and legacy systems so that data and assets can move across different distributed ledger technologies. Gilbert Verdian founded Quant Network, with the project's origins going back to around 2015. The public launch of Overledger and the QNT token happened in 2018. Quant conducted an initial coin offering in April 2018 and completed its token generation event on 10 August 2018. Quant is not a base-layer blockchain. It is an overlay operating system and API gateway that sits on top of existing networks, with QNT itself issued as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. The native token trades under the ticker QNT and is used to pay Overledger licence fees, access platform services, cover gateway and transaction fees, and participate in governance. Quant is primarily deployed for enterprise and institutional use cases, including cross-border settlement, central bank digital currency projects, and multi-chain applications that operate across public and private blockchains. QNT has a fixed maximum supply of approximately 14.6 million tokens with no ongoing issuance, making it a capped utility token for a cross-chain infrastructure platform.
