Strategy repurchases $176M of STRC shares, buys no Bitcoin

Strategy is back on the sidelines after briefly resuming Bitcoin purchases following a 10-week pause.

Strategy repurchased 1.8 million STRC shares for about $176 million between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7 while keeping its Bitcoin unchanged at 845,050 BTC worth $66 billion at current market prices, the company said Tuesday.

The purchase was funded with USD Cash. The company ended the period with $5.1 billion in its USD Reserve and about $1.4 billion in USD Cash.

The update means Strategy neither bought nor sold Bitcoin, after resuming accumulation following a roughly 10-week pause. It acquired $370 million in Bitcoin in the week ending Aug. 30.

Strategy also disclosed increasing the authorization for its digital credit securities repurchase program from $1 billion to $2 billion.

As of Sept. 7, the company had $1.19 billion remaining for preferred stock repurchases and another $1 billion available under its MSTR repurchase program.
