Trump Media eyes $100K monthly charge for fast Truth Social feed: FT
The company is launching Truth API, a data feed targeting Wall Street firms and algorithmic traders who want to front-run presidential posts.
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) has floated charging as much as $100,000 a month for a premium data feed that gives traders faster access to President Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts, the Financial Times reported Friday, citing people familiar with the discussions.
The service, called the Truth API, was unveiled by Trump Media on Thursday as a business-to-business data licensing platform offering licensed, real-time access to posts from Truth Social’s most influential accounts. It is expected to go live for institutional customers on August 1, and the company said it has already secured several customers before the official launch.
The API would enable automated, machine-readable delivery of posts within milliseconds using industry-standard technology, while also providing 24/7 availability and historical data extending back to 2022.
The primary target audience includes financial services firms, particularly high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms that require the fastest possible access to potentially market-moving information. TMTG argues that timely access to influential Truth Social posts can provide a competitive advantage for firms whose trading decisions depend on rapidly processing new information.
Trump’s social media posts have frequently moved markets, including comments on tariffs, geopolitical developments and publicly traded companies.
However, the proposal has sparked concern among Wall Street firms over paying a Trump-controlled company for privileged access to market-sensitive information.
