Trump says Secret Service ordered plane switch after threat
The president said he secretly left Air Force One after a NATO summit in Turkey last month.
President Donald Trump said the Secret Service directed him to take a different plane after a NATO summit in Turkey last month because of a threat against him.
Trump secretly left Air Force One before the flight from Turkey, while officials and journalists who had traveled with him remained aboard the presidential aircraft.
In his first public comments on the operation, Trump downplayed the risks to himself and to those who continued on Air Force One, according to The Washington Post.
