Weekly spot ETF inflows topped $110 million as institutional appetite for XRP reaches levels not seen since products launched last year

XRP touched roughly $1.70 around August 22, logging its best weekly gain since late 2024. The catalyst wasn’t a tweet or a meme. It was money, specifically the institutional kind, pouring into spot XRP exchange-traded funds at a pace that 2026 hadn’t seen until now.

Spot XRP ETFs pulled in $110.49 million in net inflows during the week ending August 28. That figure represents the highest weekly total this year and pushed cumulative inflows to approximately $1.66 billion, a fresh all-time record for the product class that only launched in November 2025.

The ETF engine behind the rally

Bitwise led the charge with about $59.95 million flowing into its XRP fund during that peak week. Cumulatively, the Bitwise product has attracted nearly $600 million since inception, making it the dominant vehicle for institutional XRP exposure.

Franklin Templeton’s offering contributed roughly $28.7 million during the same stretch. Together, these two funds accounted for the lion’s share of the weekly total.

Total net assets across all XRP ETFs now sit around $1.44 billion. XRP ETFs have absorbed more than 1.5% of the token’s total circulating supply since they went live less than a year ago.

Technical levels to watch

Analysts have zeroed in on $1.70 as the critical resistance zone. XRP tapped that level before pulling back. If XRP reclaims and holds $1.70, the next technical targets fall in the $1.80 to $2.00 range.

On-chain metrics appear to support the bullish case. Address growth has been trending higher alongside the ETF inflows, and large-wallet accumulation has shown notable activity during this period.

XRP corrected from its $1.70 peak, yet ETF inflows didn’t flinch. Analysts treat this divergence — price pulling back while institutional money keeps arriving — as a bullish signal indicating the correction is driven by short-term profit-taking rather than a fundamental shift in sentiment.

Why the institutional bid matters more than the price

The resolution of SEC lawsuit uncertainty against Ripple and the subsequent ETF approvals in late 2025 opened a door that appears to be widening by the week.

XRP’s ETF trajectory has differed from Bitcoin’s: a slower start followed by accelerating inflows now hitting stride roughly nine months after launch. The $1.66 billion cumulative figure represents a significant relative absorption rate for a token with XRP’s market cap.

Traders will be watching whether the coming weeks bring a successful retest of $1.70. A clean break above that level on strong volume, ideally accompanied by continued ETF inflows north of $100 million per week, would significantly strengthen the case for a move toward $2.00. Failure to reclaim it could set up a consolidation phase in the $1.40 to $1.60 range.
