Missing figures stay unavailable. Forward P/E requires a dated source. Annual revenue, revenue growth, net income and margin come from each company's own 10-K, in US dollars, and each row shows that fiscal year. Revenue growth compares the fiscal year with the prior year stated in the same 10-K. Net income is the full year amount attributable to the company, or available to common stockholders where the filing states only that, or consolidated net income. Each row names its basis. Trailing P/E reads "Not meaningful" when the dated trailing diluted EPS is a loss or zero. An operating margin appears only when the filing states both the operating income and the revenue for the same year.
Sources: SEC filings, Gloria daily closes and CoinGecko. Oldest record refresh: Oct 27, 2026, 8:48 PM EDT. Refresh is not a price or filing date. Each row shows its price date and its annual fiscal period. Peers use industry code and company size, or editorial selection. Market cap multiplies that row price by the company share total the latest SEC filing states for every share class together. Trailing P/E divides it by trailing diluted earnings from SEC filings. Rolled earnings per share are approximate because share counts can change between periods. Both appear only when the SEC data carries its date, so they are estimates at one price date, not synchronized filing valuations. Not investment advice.

Quoted token and share units can have different rights, multipliers and dividend treatment. This is not an executable premium or arbitrage signal.
For years, Google’s Tensor Processing Units were the tech equivalent of a family recipe. Everyone knew they existed, but you only got a taste if you came over for dinner, meaning you rented them through Google Cloud.
That’s changing. Alphabet is now selling its TPU hardware directly to select outside customers, and the first systems have already landed in other companies’ data centers.
From rental model to hardware vendor
Alphabet first disclosed the plan in late April 2026, during its first-quarter earnings call. The company said it would begin selling TPUs to a select group of external buyers.
Until then, the chips mostly powered Google’s own operations. Outsiders who wanted access had to rent capacity through Google Cloud rather than own the hardware outright.
The plan moved quickly from announcement to delivery. On the second-quarter earnings call in July, CFO Anat Ashkenazi confirmed that the first TPU systems reached external customer data centers during that quarter.
Those deliveries allowed Alphabet to recognize its first revenue from direct TPU sales.
The company expects most of the sales tied to these agreements to arrive in 2027. So the revenue line exists now, but the real volume is still a calendar flip away.
Alphabet has also signaled that this revenue won’t arrive in a smooth, predictable stream. Quarterly TPU hardware results are expected to swing around, which is typical when a business depends on large, chunky equipment orders landing in specific periods.
Who’s buying, and how big it could get
Demand is coming from a few corners. AI labs are the obvious customers, but capital markets firms and high-performance computing users are also in the mix.

The customer list already includes some heavyweight names. Meta began running TPUs for production workloads in its own data centers as of October 2026.
Oracle is also on board. The two companies announced a partnership that will make TPUs available on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure starting in calendar 2027.
That makes Oracle the first hyperscaler outside of Google to offer the chips.
Analyst estimates sketch a steep growth curve. Those projections put external TPU revenue at approximately $8 billion in 2026. For 2027, forecasts range from $51 billion to more than $75 billion, depending on whose model you trust.
Where the sales do show up is inside Google Cloud’s backlog. That backlog reached $514 billion by the end of the second quarter, a figure that now includes these TPU commitments.
Google Cloud revenue climbed 82% year over year to $24.8 billion in Q2 2026, and that figure doesn’t reflect the impact of TPU sales.
Why Alphabet is doing this now
Alphabet’s stated reasoning is twofold. Selling hardware directly expands the company’s addressable market, and the business is meant to help fund and support development of its next-generation silicon.
What this means for Alphabet, Nvidia, and the cloud market
The risks are real. Alphabet is still working on making TPUs more compatible with the software tools developers already use, and that compatibility gap is one of the main reasons customers default to Nvidia.
The Meta deployment is the clearest signal yet that large buyers are willing to run serious workloads on non-Nvidia silicon.
The Oracle deal could shift cloud dynamics too. Making TPUs available on a rival hyperscaler’s infrastructure suggests Alphabet cares more about chip adoption than about keeping the hardware locked inside its own cloud.
Investors will want to see whether Alphabet starts disclosing TPU revenue directly, how the 2027 delivery schedule plays out, and whether more cloud providers follow Oracle’s lead. Quarterly results may look uneven along the way, which Alphabet has already flagged.
