Bitcoin climbs to $84,737 as tech stocks rebound and risk appetite returns
Strong SpaceX earnings and an upbeat Super Micro preannouncement lifted AI shares, pulling Bitcoin, Ether and Solana higher
Bitcoin climbed as much as 2.4% to $84,737 on October 21, 2026, riding a rebound in technology stocks that revived the market’s appetite for risk.
What moved the market
SpaceX reported third-quarter revenue of $14.6 billion, a 161% jump from the same period a year earlier.
Super Micro Computer added fuel with an encouraging preannouncement. That rekindled interest in AI-linked stocks, the group that had been under pressure the prior week.
The rally was not limited to the largest crypto asset. Ether rose 3.7% on the day, while Solana gained more than 4.6%.
The ETF bid showed up first
US spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in more than $549 million in net inflows across October 19 and 20.

Spot ETFs give traditional investors a way to hold Bitcoin exposure through a brokerage account. Their flows have become a useful gauge of institutional and retail demand coming from outside crypto-native platforms.
Oil prices retreated, easing a source of pressure that had weighed on both equities and digital currencies.
What this means for investors
The ETF flows deserve the closest attention. More than $549 million in net inflows over two days points to demand that preceded the price move, which can offer more durable support than a rally driven purely by momentum traders.
The same AI trade that lifted Bitcoin this week knocked it down the week before. That makes the equity calendar relevant to crypto holders. Earnings reports and guidance from AI-linked companies can now ripple directly into digital asset prices, sometimes within the same trading session.
The outperformance of Ether and Solana is also worth noting. Larger moves in alternative tokens on up days typically signal that traders are willing to take on more risk, but those same assets tend to fall harder when sentiment sours.
