Bitcoin spot ETFs see $526.6 million inflows on October 19 as Ethereum and Solana funds bleed

BlackRock's IBIT carried the entire Bitcoin ETF complex while Ethereum and Solana products saw money head for the exits

US spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $526.6 million in net inflows on October 19. That was their biggest single-day haul since September 22.

The catch is that one fund did nearly all the lifting. Meanwhile, Ethereum and Solana spot ETFs moved the other way, posting net outflows on the same day.

One fund, one very big day

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, ticker IBIT, took in $665.2 million on its own. It was the only Bitcoin ETF to record positive flows that day.

Fidelity’s FBTC saw $83.6 million leave the fund. Grayscale’s GBTC lost $54.9 million.

Trading volume across all spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $2.09 billion on the day.

Total net assets held by the funds stood at $105.46 billion as of October 19. That equals approximately 6.4% of Bitcoin’s overall market capitalization.

Ethereum and Solana head the other direction

Ethereum spot ETFs recorded $103.3 million in net outflows on October 19.

BlackRock’s ETHA led those redemptions, accounting for $95.4 million of the total. So the same issuer that dominated Bitcoin inflows also topped the Ethereum outflow chart.

The October 19 redemptions extended a multi-day streak of outflows for the Ethereum products. Solana spot ETFs also saw net outflows on the day.

How October looked before the rebound

October 19 arrived after a rough patch for Bitcoin ETFs. The funds had logged a series of outflows earlier in the month.

The latest inflow helped narrow October’s monthly deficit to approximately $90 million.

Since launching in January 2024, the spot Bitcoin ETFs have gathered cumulative net inflows of $57.40 billion.

What this means for investors

IBIT absorbed more than the entire net inflow while rivals bled, which reinforces BlackRock’s position as the default choice for new Bitcoin ETF money.

GBTC’s continued outflows also fit a familiar storyline. The Grayscale fund has historically faced redemptions as investors shifted to cheaper alternatives, and October 19 offered no break from that trend.

Investors watching this space should keep an eye on three things. First, whether IBIT’s dominance continues or other funds begin attracting inflows. Second, whether Ethereum’s redemption streak breaks. Third, whether total net assets keep climbing from $105.46 billion.
