South African player Johnny 'JT' Theodosiou joins Team Liquid's revamped lineup ahead of a $1.15 million tournament with Valve Wildcard implications

Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike 2 roster just got a notable upgrade. BLAST Premier has officially listed South African player Johnny “JT” Theodosiou on Liquid’s roster for BLAST Bounty Season 2, a tournament featuring 32 teams competing for a $1.15 million prize pool.

The move comes on the heels of a rule change on July 17, 2026, that opened the door for Liquid to field an entirely reconfigured lineup. Previously, the organization was required to include either ultimate or siuhy in their squad. That restriction is now gone.

What the new roster looks like

Liquid’s updated BLAST Bounty Season 2 squad now features EliGE, NAF, malbsMd, Jorko, and JT, with flashie serving as coach.

The roster’s first test will come against Vitality in their opening match.

Why the rule change matters

The July 17 rule update removed the requirement to retain specific players, giving Liquid the freedom to build around a different core. More importantly, this reconfiguration is tied to Liquid’s eligibility for a Valve Wildcard invite.

Valve Wildcard invites are a gateway to Major tournaments, the biggest events in competitive Counter-Strike. Securing one can define an organization’s entire competitive year.
