Mastercard’s Crypto Partner Program just got a little bigger. BNB Chain, the blockchain network closely associated with Binance, has officially joined the initiative, which now counts more than 100 partners working to wire digital assets into the global payments plumbing that Mastercard already dominates.
What the Crypto Partner Program actually does
Mastercard launched the Crypto Partner Program on March 11, 2026, starting with more than 85 partners. The roster reads like a who’s who of the digital asset industry: Binance, Circle, Ripple, PayPal, and Paxos all signed on from the jump.
The program targets specific enterprise use cases, including cross-border remittances, B2B transfers, payouts, and settlement. Blockchain networks already in the program include Solana, Polygon, and Tron, all chosen for their transaction throughput and low fees. BNB Chain fits that mold. It processes millions of transactions daily and has built a significant DeFi and stablecoin ecosystem, making it a natural candidate for payments-focused infrastructure work.
The program also creates a framework for partners to engage directly with each other on developing on-chain payment standards. Rather than each company building in isolation, Mastercard is essentially convening the room and setting the agenda.

The BVNK acquisition looms large
Mastercard also moved to acquire BVNK, a stablecoin infrastructure firm, for up to $1.8 billion. BVNK specializes in the back-end plumbing that makes stablecoin payments work for businesses: on-ramps, off-ramps, settlement layers, and compliance tooling.
Why BNB Chain’s inclusion matters
BNB Chain’s participation reinforces a specific thesis within the Crypto Partner Program: high-throughput, low-cost blockchains are the ones that matter for payments. The blockchains Mastercard has selected, including Solana, Polygon, Tron, and now BNB Chain, all prioritize speed and affordability. They’re the networks where stablecoin activity is already concentrated.
Mastercard processes billions of transactions across more than 210 countries. Being part of that ecosystem opens doors that a standalone blockchain announcement simply cannot.
