Bybit hires former VARA executive Peter Loo as legal chief
The world's second-largest crypto exchange by trading volume taps Dubai's top regulatory architect to lead its global compliance push
Bybit has appointed former VARA executive Peter Loo as its chief legal and compliance officer to lead the exchange’s global regulatory strategy and licensing efforts, the company said Monday.
Loo brings more than 25 years of experience across regulators, investment banks, law firms and digital asset companies, including senior positions at Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, Barclays Capital, MF Global and Amber Group.
In his new role, he will oversee legal, compliance and governance functions as Bybit continues expanding its regulated financial services platform beyond crypto trading into payments, custody and asset management.
Bybit said the appointment marks another step in its effort to strengthen regulatory engagement and position itself as a globally regulated digital financial platform.
