Coinbase Exchange enables full trading for GRASS-USD pair

The Solana-based DePIN token that rewards users for sharing bandwidth now trades with all order types on Coinbase's spot market.

GRASS, the native token of a decentralized network that pays people for their unused internet bandwidth, is now fully tradeable against the US dollar on both Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Advanced. All order types, including market, limit, and stop orders, are live.

The listing caps a five-day sprint from roadmap announcement to go-live. Coinbase added GRASS to its public listing roadmap on August 21, and spot trading opened on August 26 after the exchange’s standard phased rollout.

How the launch unfolded

GRASS went through three stages: an auction mode lasting at least ten minutes, then a limit-only phase where only limit orders were accepted, and finally full trading where all order types became available.

At the time of launch, GRASS was trading in a range of roughly $0.30 to $0.37, with a market capitalization in the low-to-mid hundreds of millions of dollars. Users can now buy, sell, convert, send, receive, and store the token through Coinbase’s website and mobile app in eligible jurisdictions. Institutional traders get access through Coinbase Exchange directly.

The token lives on Solana as an SPL token, with the contract address Grass7B4RdKfBCjTKgSqnXkqjwiGvQyFbuSCUJr3XXjs.

What GRASS actually does

GRASS is the utility token powering the Grass network, a DePIN, or decentralized physical infrastructure network. You share your unused internet bandwidth, and the network rewards you with GRASS tokens in return.

That bandwidth gets put to work for decentralized web scraping and data collection. The end use case is training AI models. Grass distributes that task across thousands of individual contributors rather than through centralized servers.

The network deployed its mainnet in 2024, and the token was already trading on various centralized and decentralized exchanges before this Coinbase listing.
