Core Scientific boosts Bitcoin treasury to 848 BTC despite asset sales
Management said it plans to remain opportunistic in selling its remaining Bitcoin holdings based on market conditions and treasury objectives.
Core Scientific reported holding 848 Bitcoin at the end of the second quarter, rebuilding its treasury from 547 BTC as of March 31, according to a new SEC filing.
In the first half of 2026, the company mined about 695 BTC while selling 2,385 BTC for approximately $208 million to fund capital expenditures and other cash needs.
Based on the company’s reported Bitcoin balances at the end of 2025, the first quarter and the second quarter, the figures imply that it sold 1,990 BTC in the first quarter and another 395 BTC in the second quarter, while adding more than 300 BTC during the latest quarter through mining.
Despite the quarter-over-quarter increase, Bitcoin reserves remained well below the 2,537 BTC held at the end of 2025. Core Scientific said it will continue to monetize its remaining Bitcoin opportunistically depending on market conditions and its treasury strategy.
