Delphi Digital just made its deep-dive Zcash report available to the public. Titled “Zcash: Encrypted Money for a Surveilled World,” the report lays out a case that ZEC has been building momentum on multiple fronts: shielded-pool adoption is surging, a major protocol upgrade is on the horizon, and regulatory headwinds have calmed considerably.

The headline number is hard to ignore. The share of Zcash’s circulating supply held in shielded pools jumped from roughly 11% to nearly 30% in the span of a single year. Nearly 1 million additional ZEC migrated into shielded addresses since October 2025 alone.

The transaction volume data underscores the growing activity. ZEC recorded approximately $285 million in transaction volume over a 30-day window before the report’s February 5 publication date. For comparison, Bitcoin logged $348 million in the same timeframe.

The Tachyon upgrade and quantum resistance

Perhaps the most forward-looking element of Delphi’s analysis centers on the Tachyon upgrade, a protocol overhaul scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Tachyon aims to improve transaction efficiency and scaling while layering in post-quantum privacy features.

The “harvest now, decrypt later” threat is real. Adversaries can store encrypted blockchain data today and attempt to crack it once quantum hardware matures. The Tachyon upgrade would incorporate cryptographic primitives designed to withstand quantum attacks, making ZEC one of the few major digital assets proactively addressing the threat.
