BetHog, a crypto casino and sports betting platform, is winding down its consumer gambling platform to devote all of its resources to Sentient Studios, its AI-powered live dealer software business, founder Nigel Eccles announced.

The move, first reported by Forbes, follows a board decision made roughly one month ago and comes just months after the company spun out Sentient Studios, concluding that the business could not effectively pursue both direct-to-consumer gambling and enterprise software simultaneously.

Eccles and Rob Jones launched BetHog in late 2024 with $6 million in seed financing led by venture capital firm 6MV. The debut followed its alpha phase, offering proprietary casino games as well as titles from established developers including Pragmatic Play and Evolution. 

Sentient Studios’ software enables casino operators to instantly deploy customizable AI dealers across multiple games, languages and branded environments without investing in traditional live dealer studios.

Eccles said the company aims to disrupt incumbent provider Evolution by lowering operating costs while offering greater scalability.
