Fulham FC is reportedly closing in on a deal to sign 21-year-old attacking midfielder Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid. The deal, which emerged on July 29, 2026, was reportedly driven by new Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa, who has direct ties to Real Madrid’s youth development system. Arbeloa personally requested the signing.

Real Madrid is expected to retain some control over Palacios’ future through sell-on clauses embedded in the agreement. If Palacios eventually moves to a bigger club, Real Madrid gets a cut of that future transfer fee.

Fulham isn’t stopping at one player either. The club is simultaneously pursuing another Real Madrid youth product, Gonzalo Garcia, suggesting a deliberate strategy to stock the squad with young, technically proficient players from one of football’s most respected development pipelines.
