FUT Esports survives IEM Cologne Major with KrabeniCS clutch
The Turkish CS2 squad scraped through Stage 2 behind a dominant Ancient performance before falling to G2 in Stage 3
FUT Esports kept their IEM Cologne Major run alive on June 8 with a 13-4 demolition of B8 Esports on Ancient. Aulon “Krabeni” Fazlija and teammate dem0n each racked up 47 kills in the match, leading FUT to a Stage 2 advancement.
A dominant map, then a familiar wall
FUT’s run hit a wall on June 12 when they drew G2 Esports in Stage 3, losing 2-1 in a best-of-three series. FUT took Anubis 13-11 in the opener and followed it with a 13-6 win on Ancient. G2 then won Overpass 13-7 to close out the series.
The bigger picture for FUT Esports
FUT Esports, formerly known as Futbolist, has been building in the CS2 scene since their founding in 2017. The organization has accumulated roughly $379K in total esports winnings over that span.
The IEM Cologne Major ran from June 2 through June 21, 2026, with a total prize pool of $1.25 million.
One notable aspect of this year’s Cologne Major is the absence of crypto or blockchain sponsorships. Prediction markets on platforms like Polymarket and Coinbase saw activity tied to tournament outcomes during the event.
