Enes Ünal is heading back to familiar territory. Getafe CF has completed a permanent deal to sign the 29-year-old Turkish international striker from AFC Bournemouth, bringing the forward back to a club where he spent four productive seasons before his move to the Premier League.
The transfer is structured as a free move, but Bournemouth won’t walk away empty-handed. The Cherries are set to receive performance-related bonuses totaling up to €1.5M, plus a 20% sell-on clause should Getafe eventually move Ünal on to another club.
A reunion years in the making
Ünal’s relationship with Getafe runs deep. During his previous stint at the Madrid-based club from 2020 to early 2024, he racked up 103 La Liga appearances and found the net 34 times.
Bournemouth swooped in during his time at Getafe, initially bringing Ünal in on loan before making the deal permanent in May 2024 for roughly £13M.

The deal was reportedly finalized around August 12-13, 2026, giving Ünal time to reintegrate with the squad before the La Liga season gets fully underway.
The performance-related bonuses of up to €1.5M suggest both clubs expect Ünal to contribute meaningfully. Those clauses typically activate based on appearances, goals, or team achievements like qualifying for European competition.
The 20% sell-on clause is arguably the more interesting financial lever. Ünal is 29, which means he conceivably has three or four peak years remaining. If he puts together a strong season or two, a club with deeper pockets could come calling, and Bournemouth would get a cut of whatever fee Getafe negotiates.
