Jojopyun in extension talks with Movistar KOI amid €400,000 offer reports
The Canadian mid laner extends his stay in the LEC, keeping one of Europe's most surprising rosters intact heading into next season
Jojopyun joined Movistar KOI on December 6, 2024, crossing the Atlantic at 20 years old to take a spot in a league that had never featured a North American player before. In his first split with the team, Movistar KOI won the 2025 LEC Spring Split title. His original contract was set to expire on November 16, 2026.
Reports from late 2025 and into 2026 indicated that both sides had been in extension talks for some time, with negotiations involving a high-value offer in the range of €400,000. Multiple counteroffers were exchanged over the course of the discussions. As of September 2026, no finalized contract had been publicly confirmed.
The organization had already secured a long-term commitment from head coach Melzhet, whose deal runs through 2028. On the player side, both Elyoya and Alvaro have signed through the end of 2027, with performance-based options attached to their deals.
For Jojopyun personally, born on October 1, 2004, he will still be just 22 years old when the 2027 season wraps up. His position as the first North American to compete in the LEC followed by a Spring Split title in his debut season represents the most concrete proof of concept the argument for NA players in the LEC has had.
