MediaMarktSaturn has removed Ledger products, while other wallet makers reassess reseller relationships.

Ledger is reviewing sales controls and anti-tampering protections after spyware implanted in hardware wallets was linked to more than $90 million in estimated cryptocurrency losses, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.

Chief technology officer Charles Guillemet said the company is assessing its protections and asked users with suspected tampering to consult Ledger’s hardware-opening guidelines and send suspicious devices for examination.

CEO Pascal Gauthier said Ledger is reviewing controls for both direct sales and resellers, describing physical supply-chain tampering as an industry-wide risk.

Users began reporting losses Friday, including from devices bought through Malaysian reseller CryptoBilis. Galaxy Digital research published late Friday estimated losses exceeding $90 million across hundreds of addresses.

Ledger said it was examining reports involving devices sold elsewhere, but had not confirmed the total affected users or losses. Allegations on social media included devices purchased from Germany’s MediaMarkt.

A MediaMarktSaturn spokesperson told Bloomberg that the group removed all Ledger products from stores and online platforms and was in contact with the manufacturer.

OneKey and Trezor are also halting or reviewing some reseller relationships, according to company posts. OneKey CEO Yishi Wang said the changes could cost the company an entire year’s revenue.
