About Aethir
Aethir is a decentralized GPU cloud infrastructure network that provides distributed computing power for AI workloads, cloud gaming, and other high-performance applications. It operates on Ethereum mainnet and Arbitrum, using an off-chain architecture organized around three roles: Containers execute compute tasks, Checkers verify performance and integrity, and Indexers match compute supply to demand. The ATH token generation event launched on 11 June 2024, with emissions and vesting running through December 2028. Aethir does not define its own base-layer consensus mechanism. Instead, it relies on existing blockchain infrastructure for settlement and token operations. The native token is Aethir Token (ATH). It is used to pay for GPU compute services, reward cloud hosts and node operators, stake to participate in network operations, and vote on governance proposals. ATH has a fixed total supply of 42 billion tokens, distributed according to a multi-year emission and vesting schedule. There is no protocol-level burn mechanism currently in place. Aethir is categorized as a decentralized physical infrastructure network, or DePIN, connecting hardware providers with enterprises and developers that need scalable GPU compute capacity.
