About Falcon USD
Falcon USD (USDf) is a crypto-backed, overcollateralized synthetic stablecoin issued by Falcon Finance, designed to track the U.S. dollar. It functions as a dollar-like unit of account and liquidity token within the Falcon Finance ecosystem. Falcon Finance operates the protocol as a stablecoin issuer. No widely cited source names individual founders or an exact founding date beyond the project being active under the Falcon Finance brand. USDf was in live circulation and tracked by market analytics sites from early 2025 onward. The token is minted when users deposit eligible collateral into the Falcon protocol. Accepted collateral includes stablecoins such as USDC and USDT, as well as volatile assets like BTC, ETH, and SOL. The protocol maintains its USD peg through liquidation mechanisms, arbitrage, and delta-neutral yield strategies. USDf carries the ticker USDf and is used for trading, liquidity provision, and as collateral within DeFi applications. Users can convert USDf into sUSDf, a yield-bearing derivative used for yield generation and protocol strategies. USDf operates with an uncapped, elastic supply. The supply expands or contracts in response to collateral deposits and redemptions rather than following a fixed issuance schedule.
