About Spark
Spark is a decentralized finance protocol on Ethereum that allocates capital on-chain, deploying liquidity across DeFi, CeFi, and real-world assets to generate yield, with a particular focus on stablecoin liquidity management. It was built by Sky, a team of former MakerDAO core contributors, and supports DAI and USDS. The SPK token contract launched in October 2024, with distribution happening through farming and vesting schedules. Spark runs as a smart-contract protocol on Ethereum, and bridged versions of SPK are available on Base and BNB Smart Chain. The protocol relies on Ethereum's proof-of-stake consensus for security. SPK is an ERC-20 token used for governance voting, staking to secure the protocol, and earning rewards. It is not required as a gas token; transaction fees are paid in the native currencies of the underlying chains. SPK has a fixed maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, with allocations spread across community farming programs, ecosystem funds, and team vesting over a multi-year schedule.
