About Clearpool
Clearpool is a decentralized finance protocol that provides unsecured, uncollateralized lending to institutional borrowers through single-borrower liquidity pools. It was founded in 2021 as a permissionless institutional credit marketplace built on Ethereum, with additional deployments on Polygon, Optimism, Mantle, and Polygon zkEVM. The CPOOL token launched in 2021 as an ERC-20 asset and is the protocol's native utility and governance token. Clearpool operates through smart contracts rather than a standalone blockchain, using a dynamic interest-rate model tied to pool utilization. Lenders receive interest and cpTokens representing their positions. Institutional borrowers must stake CPOOL to open pools or vaults. Liquidity providers earn CPOOL rewards, and token holders participate in governance voting. CPOOL also supports delegated staking with Clearpool oracles as part of the protocol's risk and credit infrastructure. CPOOL has a fixed maximum supply of one billion tokens created at genesis, with no inflationary issuance. Circulating supply has been reported in the range of roughly 760 to 980 million tokens. The protocol connects institutional borrowers seeking unsecured on-chain credit with DeFi liquidity providers in a competitive, permissionless marketplace.
