About SPX6900
SPX6900 is an Ethereum-based memecoin that parodies traditional financial indices, most notably the S&P 500, and is intended for entertainment and financial satire rather than practical utility. It was created by an anonymous team and launched as a community-driven project on Ethereum in 2023. The project does not operate its own base-layer blockchain and instead runs as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, with cross-chain support on Solana and Base through bridges such as Wormhole. The native token is SPX, used primarily for speculative trading and community participation. SPX carries no formal governance rights, no fee mechanism, and no staking function beyond standard ERC-20 DeFi interactions. The token has a fixed maximum supply of one billion SPX, of which approximately 69 million have been burned, leaving a circulating supply of roughly 930 to 931 million tokens. SPX6900 is a satirical meme asset with a capped supply and no backing by real-world equities or cash flows.
