About USD1
USD1 is a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by World Liberty Financial for value transfer, settlement, and use across on-chain and traditional financial systems. World Liberty Financial was created by the Trump family and co-founded by Zach Witkoff in late 2024. The token launched in March 2025. Each USD1 is redeemable one-to-one for U.S. dollars and backed by short-term U.S. Treasurys, U.S. dollar deposits, and other cash equivalents. The token carries the ticker USD1 and is used for payments, settlement, and decentralized finance applications rather than for staking or governance. One reported use is as the settlement asset for large transactions, including a $2 billion investment by Abu Dhabi-based MGX into Binance. The supply is uncapped in principle but fully collateralized, with circulation reported above $4 billion as of mid-2026.
