About USDD
USDD is a decentralized stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, used in decentralized finance for payments, trading, lending, and liquidity management. It was created by the TRON DAO Reserve under the direction of Justin Sun, the founder of the TRON ecosystem. The token launched on May 5, 2022, on the TRON blockchain and has since expanded to additional chains. Its design relies on over-collateralization and reserve-backed mechanics, with on-chain governance and liquidation controls helping to maintain the peg. USDD functions as a stable medium of exchange and settlement asset rather than as a fee or staking token. Its supply is elastic with no predefined maximum, and recent market data places total supply at approximately 1.5 billion tokens. USDD is intended as a price-stable digital dollar substitute for DeFi activity including trading, lending, borrowing, and liquidity operations.
