About XYO Network
XYO Network is a decentralized data oracle and DePIN infrastructure project that verifies real-world location and geospatial events on-chain. Its applications include supply chain management, logistics, IoT, AI, and location-based services. Arie Trouw and the team at XY Labs and the XYO Foundation founded the project, with XYO Network launching in 2018 as a decentralized, location-based blockchain and data protocol. The network and its native ERC-20 token, XYO, both launched in 2018 to support network operations and participant incentives. XYO's technical design relies on cryptographic Proof of Origin and Proof of Location mechanisms. A network of independent nodes collects, validates, and immutably records real-world events and geospatial data. The XYO token is an Ethereum-based utility token used to reward participants and to pay for the collection, validation, and verification of location and other real-world data across the network. XYO functions as a utility and incentive token rather than a governance token, powering the protocol's decentralized oracle functions. The total maximum supply of XYO is approximately 13.93 billion tokens, with circulating supply reported close to that figure. The network provides verified, tamper-resistant location and event data for use cases such as asset tracking, real-world asset management, insurance, and location-based applications.
