Meta plans to launch Hatch AI agent platform in coming weeks
The company is separately aiming to release its next-generation AI model, Watermelon, in October.
Meta Platforms is planning to bring its consumer AI agent to market in the coming weeks under the internal name Hatch, according to internal documents reviewed by The Information. The company is also targeting October for its next AI model, Watermelon.
Hatch is part of Mark Zuckerberg’s strategy to turn Meta’s heavy investment in artificial intelligence into a new business and diversify revenue beyond advertising. The company has considered a tiered subscription structure, with a premium option priced at up to $199.99 a month and offering users higher usage limits.
The move would give Meta a direct consumer product for its AI push as the technology industry increasingly focuses on autonomous agents capable of carrying out tasks rather than simply generating responses.
