About Pudgy Penguins
Pudgy Penguins is an NFT-based brand and digital ecosystem. PENGU is its official utility and ecosystem token. The Pudgy Penguins NFT project launched in 2021, and the team introduced PENGU in December 2024. The token launched on 17 December 2024, with claims opening that day and trading beginning on major exchanges shortly after. PENGU does not run its own blockchain. It operates as a fungible token on two chains: on Solana as an SPL token and on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token, relying on those chains' respective proof-of-stake consensus mechanisms. PENGU is used for ecosystem governance, in-game economies such as Pudgy World, community incentives, and staking and DeFi arrangements described in the project's tokenomics. The token has a fixed total supply of 88,888,888,888 tokens, all minted at the token generation event. Distribution follows a predefined vesting schedule of approximately four years. PENGU functions as a community and ecosystem asset tied to the Pudgy Penguins NFT and gaming brand rather than as a general-purpose payment network.
