Novo Nordisk and Anthropic join forces on AI-driven drug research
The collaboration includes data governance and human oversight designed to ensure AI is used in line with Novo's ethical and compliance standards.
Novo Nordisk is partnering with Anthropic to apply Claude Science and other AI models to drug discovery, according to a Sept. 16 statement. The companies are seeking to accelerate the development of new medicines.
Novo will test Claude Science on selected R&D workflows and scientific problems identified by its researchers and computational teams.
The companies will also develop targeted AI solutions aimed at supporting biological reasoning, while Anthropic’s frontier models will help Novo scale AI-driven software development.
The collaboration is part of Novo’s push to become a more AI-driven healthcare company. Both companies said the work will include robust data governance and human oversight to support responsible use of AI in research and development.
