PSV Eindhoven signs teenage Danish striker Mikkel Bro Hansen from Bodø/Glimt for €3M

PSV Eindhoven locked down one of European football’s most exciting teenage prospects on the final day of the Dutch transfer window, agreeing a deal worth approximately €3 million to sign Danish striker Mikkel Bro Hansen from Norwegian club FK Bodø/Glimt.

The 17-year-old, born on January 25, 2009, has already departed Norway to complete medical examinations in Eindhoven. He’s expected to sign a three-year contract with the Eredivisie club.

A teenager with a growing highlight reel

Bro Hansen joined Bodø/Glimt on a free transfer from Danish club AGF in January 2025, and promptly announced himself with a hat-trick on his debut in the Norwegian Cup. His first-team experience at Bodø/Glimt remained relatively limited, with around 11 league appearances and 2 goals by late July 2026. At the international youth level, Bro Hansen has been prolific for Denmark’s U17 squad, racking up 13 goals in 16 caps.

Manchester City, Chelsea, and Barcelona were all reportedly tracking the teenager before PSV moved decisively.

Why PSV makes sense for a 17-year-old

PSV’s current roster already includes established forwards like Ricardo Pepi, the American international. The fee itself, approximately €3 million (around 32 million NOK), represents solid business for Bodø/Glimt. They signed the player on a free transfer just 18 months earlier and turned him into a multimillion-euro asset. His contract with the Norwegian club ran until summer 2027, giving Bodø/Glimt enough leverage to extract a meaningful fee without risking the player leaving for a reduced price as his deal wound down.

The economics of buying young

At 17, Bro Hansen has years of development ahead of him under contract. The three-year deal means PSV controls his rights through his age-20 season. Bro Hansen won’t turn 18 until January 2027.
