Spacecoin signs $100M deal to bring decentralized satellite internet to Vietnam
The agreement designates DETI as Spacecoin's exclusive partner in Vietnam for a three-year period following operational approval.
Spacecoin, a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) builder, has entered into an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam-based DETI Technology to deploy decentralized satellite telecommunications, sovereign routing, blockchain, and Edge AI solutions in the country, according to a Thursday statement.
The companies are targeting a minimum of $100 million in annual revenue after commercial launch, with initial deployment focused on serving major Vietnamese mobile operators Mobifone and Gtel.
The agreement grants DETI exclusive rights to develop and distribute these technologies in Vietnam for three years following regulatory approval. The two companies will build and operate a decentralized satellite infrastructure tailored to the local market.
The technology stack
The technology stack combines four layers designed to function together, as noted by Spacecoin.
Decentralized satellite telecom removes the dependency on any single operator or fixed ground infrastructure, while Sovereign routing ensures that data traffic stays under local control and within national borders rather than transiting through foreign-owned infrastructure.
Edge AI pushes processing closer to where data originates, cutting latency and bandwidth costs, and blockchain handles settlement and coordination across the network.
For Spacecoin’s vision of the agentic internet, Vietnam offers both scale and strong adoption potential. Its digitally connected population makes it an attractive first market for decentralized connectivity solutions.
“We’re at the start of a remarkable period for space, with launches and satellite deployments accelerating across the industry,” said Tae Oh, Spacecoin’s founder. “Vietnam is moving early, and that’s exactly the kind of ambition we want to build alongside.”
Other markets
Vietnam is not the only market in Spacecoin’s pipeline. The company is already working with partners across Africa and Asia, specifically in Kenya, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
In those markets, governments, telecom operators, and ISPs are testing the network using Spacecoin’s CTC-1 satellites currently in orbit. The Vietnam deal appears to be the most formalized of these efforts so far, and it works as a template for how Spacecoin plans to enter new markets.
The company said it will continue pursuing opportunities across emerging telecom markets.
