And they’re not just signing up. They’re making money faster. AI companies on Stripe are hitting revenue milestones 30% faster than comparable cohorts from 2023.

The number of solopreneurs earning $10 million or more has nearly tripled since 2023, according to Stripe’s own data. One person, running a business, clearing eight figures. AI hasn’t just lowered the barrier to starting a company. It’s lowered the barrier to scaling one.

Stripe Atlas incorporations, the company’s tool for forming new businesses, rose 130% year-over-year in Q1 2026. AI was cited as a significant driver of those new formations.

The fraud problem nobody wants to talk about

One in six sign-up attempts for AI services on Stripe is now linked to fraudulent activity. Free trial abuse has jumped by more than 100% over the past six months alone.

Stripe has responded by enhancing its fraud detection capabilities and rolling out new billing tools specifically designed for AI services. These were discussed at the company’s Sessions 2026 event, which focused heavily on AI commerce infrastructure.
