Jules Koundé, Barcelona’s versatile French international, has once again been linked with a move to Spurs. And once again, the answer appears to be a firm no.

Sources from Tottenham have denied that Koundé has any interest in joining the club, and no negotiations are currently taking place.

The latest round of speculation

The rumor mill kicked into gear with reports suggesting Tottenham was contemplating a bid of around €65 million, roughly £56 million or $75 million, for the Barcelona defender. Barcelona has reportedly signaled a willingness to move certain players as part of a broader squad refresh, and Koundé’s profile as both a right-back and centre-back made him an attractive target for a Spurs side in need of defensive reinforcement.

Koundé, who represented France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has previously expressed a preference for clubs competing at the Champions League level.

The denial from Tottenham echoes a nearly identical scenario from 2021, when Koundé was also linked with a move to North London and the idea was similarly shot down.

Even if Tottenham were genuinely in the mix, they wouldn’t be the only suitor. Reports have linked Arsenal, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich with interest in the defender.
