AC Milan rejects New York City FC’s approach for Christian Pulisic
The Italian club shut down NYCFC's inquiry for the US international, confirming the winger is not for sale as his contract runs through 2027
AC Milan didn’t even let this one get to the negotiating table. The Serie A club has flatly rejected an approach from New York City FC for Christian Pulisic, making clear that the American winger is staying put in Milan.
The inquiry, first reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, was characterized as a low-level approach from the MLS side. Milan’s response was swift and unambiguous: Pulisic is not for sale.
Pulisic’s contract with AC Milan runs through the summer of 2027. The club also holds an option to extend that deal through summer 2028.
The Athletic corroborated the reporting, confirming that Milan management moved quickly to dismiss the approach. There was no counteroffer, no “come back with a bigger number” signal. Just a firm no.
AC Milan operates a fan token, $ACM, on the Chiliz/Socios platform. The token has been live since 2021, giving holders access to certain club-related privileges and rewards.
That said, there’s no direct blockchain or crypto component to the transfer discussions themselves. The fan token exists in a separate ecosystem from the actual mechanics of player transfers. No NFTs were involved, no smart contracts triggered, no on-chain implications. This was a traditional sports transaction, or rather, a traditional sports non-transaction.
