Singh helped source and co-lead Cerebras’ first funding round while at Foundation Capital. By the time Cerebras completed its IPO in May, Foundation held about 7% of the company, making it the third-largest shareholder. Cerebras is now valued at nearly $50 billion.

Mayfield has $3 billion in assets under management and can write seed checks of up to $20 million, Singh said. He said larger infrastructure seed rounds have made it harder for smaller funds to participate.

Singh previously co-founded Neotribe Ventures in 2017 and later joined Cota Capital. Mayfield managing partner Navin Chaddha said he and Singh have known each other for 15 years and served together on three startup boards.
