New York, NY, February 29, 2024 – Crypto Briefing has appointed serial entrepreneur John Chen as CEO. The promotion coincides with the publication’s new focus on developing generative AI-powered tools to improve the speed and quality of its reporting.

Chen says: “AI is positioned to disrupt the digital media landscape. As CEO, I’m excited to lead Crypto Briefing toward a more data-driven and technology-first approach to news reporting that will allow the publication to remain at the forefront of crypto media.”

On the editorial side, Diego Almada Lopez will take charge as the publication’s first AI editor and curator.

Mitchell Moos, who had been CEO since 2021, said:

“I have no doubt that AI will have a tremendous impact on the journalistic profession. Times are changing. John Chen’s background in media, blockchain tech, and digital marketing makes him uniquely qualified to lead the efforts to build out sustainable and ethical AI tools for journalists as well as relevant and personalized content for our global audience.”

Han Kao, Crypto Briefing’s Founder and Chairman, said:

“I founded Crypto Briefing in 2017 to parse the disruptive innovations coming out of the then-nascent blockchain industry. It is now time for crypto media to embrace its own set of disruptive technologies, and John Chen is the right person to lead Crypto Briefing in this next stage of its evolution.”

Crypto Briefing was founded by Han Kao (CEO of Sanctor Capital), Jon Rice (former Editor-in-Chief at Cointelegraph and Blockworks), and Andre Cronje (Director at Fantom and Founder of Yearn) who knew there had to be a better way to get actionable, unbiased information about crypto. Since 2017, Crypto Briefing has been a global leader in recognizing and reporting on emerging trends such as DeFi, NFTs, and Layer-2 blockchains.
