Eric Trump says AI investment will be the fastest driver of digital asset growth
Speaking at Token2049 in Singapore, the World Liberty Financial co-founder argued that the money pulled into AI will eventually lift crypto
Eric Trump has a theory about where crypto’s next big push comes from. It is not a new token, a fresh ETF, or a friendly regulator.
It is artificial intelligence. Speaking at the Token2049 conference in Singapore on October 7, 2026, the World Liberty Financial co-founder said AI investment will be the fastest driver of digital asset growth.
From competitor to catalyst
Trump acknowledged the awkward part up front. Over the previous year, he said, capital rotated out of crypto and into AI technology.
He said that shift put downward pressure on Bitcoin and other digital assets. Put simply, money that might have gone into crypto went chasing AI instead, and prices felt it.
Trump also said the outflow appears to be reversing. According to him, capital is starting to flow back into digital assets as prices begin to rebound.
He did not name any specific tokens or protocols during his remarks. The pitch was about the broad sector, not a particular coin.

Robots with wallets
The more concrete part of Trump’s vision involved AI agents. These are software programs that can carry out tasks on a user’s behalf with limited human involvement.
Trump predicted that such agents would handle transactions directly through digital asset wallets. In that scenario, they would bypass traditional fiat currency channels altogether.
He urged the crypto industry to fully embrace AI technologies.
The family business angle
Trump’s comments did not come from a neutral observer. His family has become increasingly involved in crypto-related ventures, and his remarks line up neatly with those bets.
Beyond World Liberty Financial, the family’s ventures include American Bitcoin. That company is engaged in Bitcoin mining and has also explored AI data-center infrastructure.
American Bitcoin went public through a merger in 2025. It holds a significant Bitcoin portfolio.
