Franklin Templeton becomes Canton Network Super Validator
The move is aimed at strengthening network security and compliance while advancing the adoption of tokenized assets.
Franklin Templeton has joined the Canton Network as a Super Validator, deepening its participation in blockchain infrastructure for institutional finance.
The company said the role will help secure the network while supporting the development of compliant infrastructure for tokenized assets and the movement of institutional capital onchain.
Franklin Templeton said participating as a validator supports its long-term strategy of building blockchain infrastructure for regulated financial institutions.
Designed for institutional tokenized finance, Canton enables secure cross-domain settlement through a shared blockchain coordination layer. The network is governed by 55 institutions, among them Visa, DTCC, Nasdaq, Chainlink, and Circle, which coordinate activity without sharing underlying transaction data.

From Benji to the validator set
This isn’t Franklin Templeton’s first involvement with Canton. The firm integrated its Benji Technology Platform with the network in November 2025. Benji is the firm’s tokenized funds platform.
In July 2026, Franklin Templeton participated in an on-chain US Treasuries transaction on Canton in collaboration with other financial entities.
